Dr. Bryan Gelman
About Dr. Gelman
Following graduation, he completed a small animal medicine and surgical internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. For the next five years, he lived in Manhattan and worked as an emergency doctor at the Animal Medical Center, where he oversaw one of the busiest emergency rooms in the country. After meeting his wife, a native Torontonian, in New York City, they moved back to Toronto in the summer of 2014. Bryan started working as a staff doctor at a general practice located in North York but soon realized he had his own vision for practicing veterinary medicine. In May 2019, he opened Yonge & St Clair Veterinary Hospital in pursuit of this vision.
Bryan lives in mid-town Toronto with his wife, son (Carter), daughter (Juliette), and their very energetic Labradoodle, Gus. Bryan is an avid reader of history and astronomy, and when not chasing after his children and dog, he loves playing and watching all things sports.

Registered Veterinary Technician
Hello, my name is Cyrene! I graduated in February 2021 from the University of Guelph with an associate diploma in veterinary technology. I originally started at YSC Vet as a volunteer, and was fortunate to join the growing and amazing YSC veterinary team soon after becoming an RVT. I was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada when I was 13, and have since lived in Toronto. I did a high school placement where I first met Dr. Gelman, who had been looking after my cats, Cali & Cassey, ever since. I adopted Cassey from a humane society in 2015 and recently adopted Cali from a friend. Growing up, I was surrounded by various animals such as dogs, fish, birds, and chickens and have always had a love for animals. I am thrilled to learn and experience more about veterinary medicine and see where this career path will take me. Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, kayaking, and skiing when my schedule allows with friends and family.
Elise joined the YSC team in May 2019 following her graduation as a veterinary technician from Seneca College. Her passion and love for all animals are what drove her to become a veterinary technician and she is excited to finally be able to pursue her dream. She enjoys the one-on-one interactions with each owner and developing a unique relationship with each pet that we pride ourselves on here at YSC vet. Pictured here with Elise is Sam, a husky mix she adopted from school, who has been keeping her busy. In her spare time, Elise enjoys going on hikes with Sam, horseback riding, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family.
Rigel was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He attended the University of Ottawa, where he completed his Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Biochemistry. Never having pets growing up due to family allergies, once Rigel moved out, he adopted a senior cat, named Cashew, in need of a forever home. He has also now adopted a senior Guinea Pig, named Werthers. Rigel began his career working with animals when he moved to Toronto with his wife and has been working in the veterinary industry since. Rigel joined the Yonge & St. Clair team in May 2022. In his free time, Rigel loves to cook, boulder with his friends, explore the city with his wife, and enjoy all things board games.
